Pulp Paper Miniatures

It kind of annoys me that the photos didn't come out any better than that. So here are the pictures that I used to make the figures, so you can see the detail. Click the picture for a larger version.

New Project

Hi there everybody! Well, I've got a new project in the works and I'm going to tell you a little bit about it now.

I am going to begin developing some gaming products. Thanks to the Open Gaming License, we have all sorts of new supplements and variations of a certain role-playing game. Among these variations are the retro-clones. A retro-clone is a re-invention of an older version of the game. So if you prefer Basic or First Edition, there is a retro-clone (or several) out there now that is just like it. And with the OGL, you can publish your own supplements and adventures.

That's what I plan to do. It is my intention to begin producing adventure modules to support games like Labyrinth Lord, Osric, and Mutant Future. But that's not all! I also have this nifty idea for a board game that uses a modular board, inspired by the terrain tiles offered from various publishers. Then, in beginning to design the playing peices for the board game, it occurred to me that I could just as easily offer paper miniatures as well!

For the paper miniatures, I plan to concentrate on some of the genres that don't (in my opinion) get enough attention. So I plan to offer some space opera (as opposed to the dominating military style), pulp, and post-apocalyptic (influenced heavily by Mutant Future). I would like to come up with some retro-style sci-fi figures, as well. Sure, I may do some fantasy figures, too, but EVERYone does those, so I won't be concentrating on them.

And a big thanks to the folks on the forums at Fat Dragon Games, for helping me find out what sort of figures they would be interested in! Here are some teaser pics to show you guys that I'm actually working on it!

First a group shot of the globetrotting adventurer set I seem to have begun. You should be able to click the picture to get a larger version.

Next we have a size-comparison shot. From left-to-right: a 28mm skeleton (either a Ral Partha or a Reaper, I forget which). My four minis. A 30mm Ace McGuire figure from Hydra Miniatures. Towering above them all is a Mechwalker thingy from Fat Dragon Games "Hollow Earth Expedition Adverysary Pack 1".

Then I have here a shot of my figures showing the rear-view.

And last, but not least, a picture to show what they would look like as a whole card, sort of game-board style, instead of cutting the figure out (because I know some people don't want to bother with that part).

I want to add that this is NOT a complete set! I intend for all my paper miniature sets to have no less than 12 figures. They will be available in both a colored version and a black-and-white version so you can make your own, custom color scheme.

That's the news for now! But hopefully it won't be too long before I have more to share!
